Along with the Sunshine Mine the Company holds over 25,000 acres in the prolific Coeur d'Alene Mining District, which has produced over 1 billion ounces of silver.
The Company acquired the rights to the Sunshine Mine and related assets in mid-2003 and began initial production in late 2007. However, due to the economic downturn in late 2008 coupled with internal financial challenges, operations were suspended in mid-September of 2008 and the Company filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy protection in March 2009. Despite these setbacks, the Company continues to preserve the value of this strategic asset by providing ongoing care and maintenance as it navigates the Bankruptcy and restructuring process.
